Gregg A. Pizzi, Psy.D.

Dr. Gregg A. Pizzi is a Clinical & Forensic Psychologist licensed in the states of Florida & Michigan.  He received his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York City in 1998.  His doctoral research project, HIV Sexual Risk Perception in Latino Men Who Have Sex With Men (LMSM), was completed at the New York State Psychiatric Institute’s HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at Columbia University.

Intrigued by the science of interpersonal dynamics & intimacy in romantic relationships, Dr. Gregg became an Imago Relationship Therapist in 2007.  An additional year of study & supervised experience at the Florida Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute in 2011 led to his certification as a Board-Certified Sex Therapist.

Dr. Gregg's clinical practice specializes in telehealth services for heterosexuals, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, couples & families, non-conventional relationships, sexual minorities, and those living alternative lifestyles.

Also a Forensic Psychologist, Dr. Gregg underwent training in the application of psychological knowldege to the legal system and became certified as a Consulting Forensic Examiner in 2004 by the Michigan Department of Community Health.

During his psychological residency in Miami, Florida, and his tenure at Michigan's Center for Forensic Psychiatry—both maximum-security settings—Dr. Gregg received dydactic training and supervised experience in the assessment and treatment of adolescent & adult sex offenders.  He has worked as a psychologist in the prison system and locked psychiatric facilities.  He has served as an Expert Witness for several courts.

Dr. Gregg is certified as an HIV Psychologist Trainer by the Office on AIDS of the American Psychological Association.  He advocates overall sexual health through education & prevention, with over three (3) years' experience in community health.  Diversity & acceptance are among his top priorities.  He has taught psychology courses on the college level and held clinical & administrative supervisory positions.

 

Dr. Gregg has traveled throughout the USA & Canada, as well as to Europe. Australia, Central & South America, Mexico, Puerto Rico & Cuba. He has a passion for Latin-American cultures in particular, and achieved oral & written fluency in Spanish when he was just a teenager.  Equipped with a wealth of unique clinical & life experiences, Dr. Gregg's authenticity, directness, and sense of humor help him comfort and connect with his patients.  His exclusively-cloud-based office provides a welcoming and caring setting with a focus on confidentiality and trust.
